Rivers APC Has Pledges To Support Wike’s Run For Governor.

The anointed governorship candidate of the state governor, Nyesom Wike, Siminialaye Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party, has received pledges from some members of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State to support her in the March 11 governorship and State Assembly elections.

They claim that this is a response to Wike’s support for the APC presidential candidate, which helped ensure the party’s victory in the state. They went on to say that Tinubu would not have been able to get the 25% vote, which is a constitutional requirement that the state must meet, without his efforts.

According to the chairman of the APC’s campaign in the state, the team had set up structures across the state months before the APC presidential primaries to solicit support for Tinubu, but they were met with opposition from the state’s APC leader.

Okocha, who is also a state member of the APC’s PCC and Independent Campaign Council, stated that they were also illegally excluded from the electioneering processes without regard for the electoral acts.

According to Vanguard, Okocha noted that the APC was unable to secure 25% of the votes cast for their presidential candidate in both 2015 and 2019.
