Matters Arising

For years, Niger state has been facing insecurity and not once did the state Deputy Governor or the Commissioners call for prayers for the people or for the insecurity challenge to end but a few days after the state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello was made the Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), the Deputy Governor and Commissioners in Niger state gathered to say prayers for him to succeed.

They gathered the state Chairman of Imams’ Forum and Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque, Sheikh Ibrahim Isah Fari and the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Niger State, Reverend Mathias Echioda and other clerics for the prayer session.

I wonder why they haven’t done this high service for the people affected by banditry and terrorism in the state. Not even when the high rated kidnappings occurred last year did these Commissioners and Deputy Governor make any show to have a prayer session.

It is just too sad the level of nepotism and high service going on in these high-level political positions. The state is on shutdown but they didn’t say any prayer for it.

I am lost for words to describe my feelings for these people. I wonder who advises them sometimes.

May God help Niger state because our leaders do not put them in their priority at all.

I rest my case for today
