Death Of The Monarch: In Ebonyi, The APGA Asserts A Plan To Fetain A Government Candidate.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance’s Ebonyi State chapter issued a warning on Friday regarding an alleged Monday plot by the Ebonyi State Government and security agencies to detain Prof. Benard Odoh, the party’s candidate for governor in the 2023 general elections.

The APGA claimed that the plan was to prevent its candidates from participating in the Match 11, 2023 governorship elections.

Dr. Emmanuel Onwe, the party’s senatorial candidate for Ebonyi Central Zone, and Charles Otu, the Director of Media and Publicity for the Ebonyi APGA Governorship Campaign Council, made this assertion during a joint press conference on Friday.

Onwe addressed journalists in Abakaliki and expressed concern and dissatisfaction over the numerous attacks and attempts at assassination made against Odoh, the state’s candidate for governor, by suspected political thugs. He condemned the development and urged security agencies to work diligently to reduce the threat.

He also felt for the families of HRH (Eze) Igboke Ewa, the traditional ruler of the Umuezeokaoha community in the state’s Ezza North Local Government Area, who was murdered on Monday night by unidentified individuals.

He asserts, “The APGA governorship candidate’s oppression and harassment is unacceptable.” The Monarch of Ezza North LGA has passed away, as we have been informed. A petition has been written by some accusing the APGA Governorship candidate, who is not guilty of such a heinous act.

I want to sympathize with the candidate for the APGA. In this case, attempting to rope Odoh is a truly unacceptable act. Keep in mind that there have been six different attempts to kill him.

The people of Ebonyi Central and Ezza North should remain calm, and that is my request. It has been reported to the IGP. And those security agencies that want to get rid of him should stop doing so.

He noticed that the state’s February 25th, 2023 elections in the Ebonyi Central Senatorial district were marred by widespread fraud, ballot box snatching, and monetary inducements.

He reassured his supporters that the election results would be challenged in court and that his mandate would be restored.

Despite INEC’s decision to proceed with the announcement of the results, the election was marked by ballot snatching and excessive voting. Candidates for the APGA will use every legal means at their disposal to reclaim their mandate. We appeal to the citizens of the state to vote for Ebonyi State’s liberation on March 11th.

Otu, on the other hand, reiterated that the All Progressives Congress government, which is in charge, had a grand plan to detain party candidates ahead of the March 11, 2023 elections, particularly Prof. Odoh, the candidate for governor.
